AntEscape
A downloadable game for Windows
My entry for the 2023 Preggo Game Jam.... I was not able to finish it but was able to get *something* made.
Controls:
- WASD movement
- E to make the Queen Advance forward
- Left Click to send Drones around
- Q to toggle the Queen's sprite (purely visual)
The goal was for this to be a mini Pikmin like adventure where you had to order your drones around to collect Royal Jelly, Carry your injured Queen to the exit, and fight off Invading Enemy Fire Ants. You would have needed to keep 4 Drones on the Queen to be able to carry and move her otherwise she would stop and be vulnerable to attack. Each Jelly collected would allow her to birth another Drone to order around after a certain time but they are hidden in side tunnels and need to be carried back to her by multiple Drones.
We were given 3 weeks to work but I was only able to use about 3 days to work on this because of life obligations. Most all of the programming used was built off of a bit of a passion project in a very similar vein I've been conceptualizing for a long time now. A multiplayer Pikmin RTS game with factions based around different interests. I was hoping to have this be a workable proof of concept but I just couldn't do it by myself in the time I had. While I failed, I am proud of what I was able to do though.
If anyone is interested in helping me out I would gladly accept.

Really interesting idea for a game. The premise would definitely work out well. Even though there’s basically nothing to do, I can it could be turned into a great game if you had more time to actually work on it. I’d love to see what this game could become in the long run.
Hi! Really intrigued by the description of the game as it's very similar to some things I've been prototyping for a while now. Would love to talk about it more. DM on Twitter or HMU with your discord:

The concept sounds awesome, I look forward to seeing this fleshed out, at your own pace after the jam is over!
